As I walk along this familiar path heading to our usual bookstore, to our favourite coffee shop, to our usual restaurant, I knew the floodgates would open. As I walked past each one of them, tears threatened to fall.
So I have been following this author who wrote things for you, and over a week ago, he shared why he stopped or had to stop writing on his blog, and the things he wrote resonated with me. Especially this part:
“Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”—Kurt Vonnegut
“When there is desire, there is gonna be a flame; Where there is a flame, someone’s bound to get burned. But just because it burns doesn’t mean you’re gonna die. You gotta get up and try, and try, and try…”—Pink, Try
